why the diamond

When i heard for the first time that sound i immediately thought to something or someone screaming.So my idea was to represent something that is ostile but at the same time very attractive like a forbidden object. From the shape of two diamonds, it's born my black diamond, an object that also remind the star wars saga and Darth Vader, and like Darth Vader's mask the black diamond hides something that is no more natural.

The project

Starting from a five-euro-second-hand radio the idea was to make some object that can make some noise when you interact with it.

Once open the radio and turn it on, i found two spot that once touched make noise

how it works

Once i found the noisy spots, i linked them to longer wire to get them more easy to find, than i took the battery pack from the radio to make everything smaller and put them into the diamond

Because everything it's hide by the shell, to make the circuit accesible, i've linked to long wire to two metal screw on the egde of the diamond.

To make the diamond scream, you have to touch both corners together to close the circuit. Now play!

Tip:
If you want to be sure that the diamond will scream, wet your finger with salted solution like your saliva :)
